Rays The Steaks
2300 wilson blvd. (tho really its around back and much closer to Clarendon rd.)

OMG. Teh Awesome.

this is where we went for our Tenth anniversary fancy dinner.

OMG. If you are a fan of big red hunks of meat, This it your place.

(even if you arent , they also have some lovely looking seafood dishes.)

We went all out. Bottle of wine, appetizers, a fancy side or two, the Biggest steaks on the menu, coffee and dessert. (Can you say doggie bag? I knew you could.) With *tip* it was a little over $150.

The biggest steak on the menu was still only $35 dollars! Compared to what you'd pay in a "fancy Name steak house" for this much fabulous, it's a sterling deal.

They start you off with some spicy cashews in a dish, and some cubes of warm bread flavored with rosemary. J had a salad w/ lettuce, tomatoes, bacon & blue cheese dressing, while i had a *lovely* sherried crab bisque. All were absolutely yummy.

J ordered a lovey tasty very reasonably priced bottle of Aussie Shiraz (Archetype? I think was the name)

We both were *insane* and ordered the ginourmous "cowboy cut" ribeye. 28 ounces, inclusive of the bone. J got his with blue cheese sauce. I got mine with a side of ....wait for it.... bone marrow.
we also ordered a side for totally yummy sauteed mushrooms. mmmmm. The meal *comes with* (absolutley Gratis!) 2 sides in Iron skillets. Yummy creamed spinach, and fabulous creamy mashed potatoes.

It was an amazement of yummy. The steaks were lovely, cooked precisely to order,very tasty beef. The bone marrow was particularly fab. Step off foi gras, cause this stuff was *wonderful*. Rich, silky, decadent, yummy-ness. J did not believe me until I made him try a bit of beef dipped in it. The look of ecstasy on his face caused me to point wildly at him across the table, and say: "That! Exactly That! That's What I'm Talking About." (All capital letters were pronounced, I tell you.)

The Staff & managers kept coming by our table to ask how everything was....and kept coming back as we were constantly feeding them huge helpings of pure praise. LOL "I kiss the chef's shoes!"

OMG. really. I ate more than was good for me. *blerp* The desserts were nummy, cheesecake from the Carnegie Deli in NYC, and a sumptuous dark chocolate mousse. Sady, 2 fork fulls of mousse and i was *done*. *blerp*

We has very big doggie bags, we does. But truly we would gleefully go back there *again*, especially as the menu has less expensive, and more reasonably sized items on it such that you could probably get out of the for less than $75 for 2 folks, and still count yourself *very*, *Very* well fed.

Me go crash now. *thud* zzzzzzzzzzzzz.

Though, I would not have had a couple of the things you mentioned.

Ditto. Definitely the best steak place in the area for the money.
