One of my goals (we won't call it a resolution) for this year, is to *post* more. 2008 has been a light posting year for me. This has been for various reasons, including way-too-many-outside-projects-that eat-my-brain, and a deep tendency to get wildly distracted by *reading* the LJ postings of Everyone.

*sigh* I may have to trim my Default View just a tad, in order to reign in my brain a bit. Not planning on *unfriending, just controlling what *automatically* shows up for the reading. As always, if you really need me to know something, an email or phone call is the quickest way to get a hold of me.

(Why yes, there is probably some mild level of ADD at work. :P My Social Distraction, Let me show you it!)

So some recent things of note, That I'M writing down so that i can come back later and enjoy them again, rather than forgetting them:

From Xmas:

*listening on the baby monitor to the Adorable Nephew *singing* the "12 days of Xmas" to himself on Xmas morning when he woke up. All the adults sitting on couches downstairs trying not to laugh too loudly each time he gets to the part about "FIVE GOLDEM RINGZ!"

*My sisters Neighbors with the "visible from space" lightshow on their lawn.

*Adorable photos of the Adorable Nephew riding his Adorable Bike. *gush*

*Seeing my parent's spiffy new house. There are 2 workshops and a Craft Room. See where i get it from?

* Time with my Family. (Despite years of interesting communication issues and the odd power struggle I still Love my family lots.)

More recently:

I'm glad to have put down a lot of my pro-bono-esque projects for this year, because they've been fine ways of avoiding my own personal To-do list. Inclusive of things like *more* photography and finding another job, which also includes the sub-project of: refreshing my web design skills.

Also working slowly on clearing out more *stuff*. I was terribly pleased this morning to see the garbage men make the goodly pile of stuff we put on the curb Sunday disappear. Every time I get rid of Stuff i don't need or use it's a great feeling of relief and accomplishment.

Also have gotten some quality social time in this past week with some lovely peoples. On a whim last saturday, J&I called up some pals and ended up having a fab chinese dinner. This week we had a lovely couple over for dinnner here. (we need to do that more often. really. it's a goal.) Actually managed to have dinner with a Pal last nite in G'town. Complete with Agressive Rice Pudding and Accidental Ukemi.

(I snagged a toe on the sidewalk and without conscious intent manage to throw a creditable imitation of a breakfall, which both startled the heck out of a fellow pedestrian, and manged to keep me from injuring myself on the Very Hard Concrete. Yay me!)

Today, I have a random Day Off due to the Ad exec being out of towm, and the owners having to deal with some issue on thier property. So, some more laundry and a Visit to a family friend in the hospital* shall ensue (if its a good time for her.)

*This is someone I've know since she was 7 years old. Shes having a difficult pregnancy with identical twin girls, and Looks to be stuck in hospital bed rest for weeks to come. Please send her a helpful thought, if you can.

We need to do another dinner in scenic downtown Leesburg--before you find that fabulous new job! After this week, my schedule should settle down enough to make plans. ;^D

Excellent!! The Fabulous side effect of Not Taking on Lots of Other People's Projects, is that i can make social time, w/o the nagging fear in the back of my head that sez "you should be working on X.."

I'm thinking that dinner thing might be a pretty good option at some point... :)
